The idea for GoldRepublic emerged after the 2008 financial crisis, when Marleen Evertsz and Alex Butter identified opportunities for safer and more transparent investments. Gold stood out, but the sector lacked accessibility and transparency.
In 2010, GoldRepublic was officially founded and became the first precious metals provider to receive a license from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). Since then, it has grown into a leading European player, offering physical gold, silver, and platinum, including storage, hedging, trading, and global services.GoldRepublic is supported by a strong advisory board, including Willem Middelkoop and Piet Klaver (former CEO of SHV Holdings), along with various industry experts.
