Willem Middelkoop (Geneva, August 21, 1962) is an entrepreneur and investor who previously gained prominence as a photojournalist, columnist, and market commentator on television. In 2008, he founded AmsterdamGold and the Commodity Discovery Fund. He sold AmsterdamGold to Value8 in 2011, after which he became a founding shareholder, together with two co-investors, of the successful business accelerator Startup Bootcamp Amsterdam.
Today, Middelkoop is active full-time as founder and director of the Commodity Discovery Fund and travels internationally as a speaker and commentator on monetary and geopolitical developments. He has written several successful books on these themes. Middelkoop is a member of the Advisory Council of the London monetary think tank OMFIF.
